Great news for you guys!

You may have heard some rumblings at our gigs and through the grapevine, but we can now officially announce that we are going back into the studio to record a new EP! This will be the beginning of the journey which will end with our second album!

We have planned to record a host of tunes, some that you have heard at our gigs between the release of Fraudulent Jazz and now, and some that are fresh off the drawing board. Not all these will be featured on the EP but you may hear them as part of the album or special release in the near future.

We are so excited about this and so we will keep you updated with the progress of the recording, photos, artwork, EP title and the eventual release which we plan to be before the summer!

That’s all for now!

Love The Swiss x

We got a great review in Jazz Journal recently. Check this out! We are soooo excited…it’s our first review!

The Swiss – Fraudulent Jazz (Chiwawa Records)

Steve Down (g), Simon Robinson (b), Andy Balls (dr). 2009.

We’re not told in the liner what The Swiss mean by ‘fraudulent jazz’ but in an age when the term ‘jazz’ get’s spun out of recognition, this trio from the south coast of England offers a set of honest and refreshing jazz and fusion. In many ways it picks up the treads of the best inventions of the 1970’s, carelessly trampled by the Marsalis explosion. Clear melodic ideas and structures drawing on jazz, rock, Latin and world music show a sharp sense of mood and substantial compositional promise. E.L.K, with burning solo work from Down, is the band at it’s best. More at www.the-swiss.co.uk (Mark Gilbert, Jazz Journal)
